Every number in the tools on this site comes from a spec register that was checked figure by figure against its primary source on 23 Oct 2026, before any code was written. This page is that register, in public form.

Space figures, by manufacturer

Radar placement. Garmin Support states the Approach R10 sits 6 to 8 feet behind the ball and needs at least 8 feet of ball flight. Rapsodo's own FAQ puts the MLM2PRO 7.5 feet behind the ball (setup range 6.5 to 8.5 feet) with at least 8 feet to the net, a total of a little more than 15 feet. FlightScope states the Mevo+ sits 7 to 9 feet behind the tee with 8 feet of ball flight as a minimum and 13 feet recommended.

Camera placement. SkyTrak's own pages give a minimum indoor room of 10 feet wide by 10 feet deep for its beside-ball units, and publish no fixed ceiling figure: it varies by golfer height and club length.

Overhead placement. Uneekor's guidance for the EYE XO is a recommended room of 13 feet wide by 16 feet deep by 10 feet high, the unit mounted 9 to 10 feet up and 3.5 feet in front of the tee, with a manual tee-to-screen band of 9 to 10 feet.

Screen clearance. Carl's Place's enclosure manuals (the manufacturer speaking about its own screens) put the gap behind a screen at 6 to 12 inches in the standard manual and 12 to 16 inches recommended in the pro manual. The tools plan on 1 foot.

Projector throw. Throw ratio is throw distance divided by image width (BenQ's published definition). Class ranges come from BenQ specification sheets: ultra short throw under 0.5, the TK710STi short throw at 0.69 to 0.83.

Editorial bands, and their anchors

Two things no manufacturer publishes, so the site sets them openly as editorial planning bands. Ceiling height for a swing is planned by golfer height: 9 feet for golfers up to 5 ft 6 in, 9.5 feet to 6 ft 1 in, 10 feet above that. The anchors: Uneekor's recommended 10 foot room, SkyTrak's position that the figure varies by golfer, and the consistent installer guidance that 10 feet swings anything and 9 feet is a floor. Cost bands were sampled on 23 Oct 2026 from real prices: Garmin R10 $499.99, Rapsodo MLM2PRO $549.99, FlightScope Mevo Gen2 $1,299, SkyTrak+ $1,995, Uneekor EYE XO $6,499, Carl's Place DIY enclosure $1,000 to $1,875, BenQ TK710STi $2,199, Carl's HotShot mat $500 to $1,060, Garmin Golf membership $99.99 per year. Bands are ranges for planning, refreshed on a dated cycle, and never presented as live prices.

How the tools are tested

Every engine ships with automated tests whose expected values were worked by hand from the sources above, not generated by the code: the 13 by 9 foot wall that must return a 179 inch diagonal, the throw distance that must put a standard projector behind the hitter and fire the shadow warning, the all-mid cost selection that must total $4,400 to $9,000. A build that fails a test does not ship.

Limits

A verdict is only as good as the measurement typed into it, and rooms are rarely the rectangle a form assumes: beams, ducts, door openers and sloped ceilings all bite, and the tools say to measure where you will actually swing. The final check is always physical: mark your ceiling height with tape and take a slow driver swing. No calculator outranks that test, including ours.

Corrections

Manufacturers revise setup guidance. When a figure changes, the register is re-read at source, the tools and this page are updated together, and the change is recorded in the site's build log. Report an error through the contact page.
